The Estate
The Estate
Finca de Uga is a place where nature is respected, animals live freely, and every product reflects care and dedication. Every corner has a story, and every gesture reflects our way of understanding Lanzarote, with respect, patience, and affection.
Years ago, on land where it seemed nothing could grow, Finca de Uga was born. What began as a family dream became a living project: gardens sprouting over volcanic rock, native animals raised with respect, and a creamery where every piece is handcrafted with patience and care.
In the south of Lanzarote, along the road that connects Arrecife with Yaiza, lies Finca de Uga, a thirty-hectare estate where earth, water, animals and human hands come together.
Here we cultivate gardens on volcanic rock, raise Majorera goats, Canarian sheep, and Jersey cows with respect, and craft artisanal cheeses that carry the history of this island. The essence of our estate lies not only in what we produce, but in how we do it.
Heritage and learning
Heritage and learning
It all began with a small stud farm. Over time, goats, sheep and the first cows arrived, and from their milk our first cheeses were born. That initial passion for animals continues to guide our work: learning, caring and improving without losing the essence that makes us unique.
Finca de Uga lives through the hands and hearts of those who work it. From the herders who know each animal to those who care for the gardens, everyone contributes their experience, passion, and dedication to every task. Here, we do not simply produce; we accompany the land and its cycles. Every sunrise reminds us that our work is a deep commitment to the life around us.
Respect for the land
Respect for the land
Water, soil, animals… every resource is treated with care. We reuse, protect, and accompany every natural cycle, because we believe sustainability is a daily gesture, simple yet profound.
Our animals live freely, our gardens grow on volcanic rock, and everything we produce reflects the respect we feel for this land. Every action seeks to preserve the balance between nature and human work.
We cultivate fruits, vegetables, and greens in a traditional way, caring for each plant as part of a natural and respectful cycle. We raise our own goats, sheep, and cows in a healthy environment, where animal welfare is our priority. All of this always with sustainability at the heart of everything we do.
At Finca de Uga, we produce artisanal cheeses using the milk of our goats, sheep, and cows, always through natural techniques and in limited productions. Our cheeses, such as Don Nicolás —chosen Best Cheese in Spain 2024— Bodega Oveja, and Untado en Pimentón, have been recognized at the World Cheese Awards, reflecting the care with which we make them.
