Finca de Uga Wins Best Cheese in Spain 2024

The fourteenth edition of the Championship of the Best Cheeses of Spain, held today at Salón Gourmets, has awarded the cheese from Finca de Uga in Lanzarote as the absolute winner among more than 880 competitors.

Our cheese Don Nicolás Finca de Uga has been chosen as the Absolute Winner in the Best Cheese of Spain category at the fourteenth edition of GourmetQuesos at Salón Gourmets, standing out among more than 880 cheeses.

‘Don Nicolás’ is a cow’s milk cheese matured for 18 months in wood, with an ochre-colored rind, a yellowish paste, a firm yet slightly creamy texture, and a delicate crunch caused by tyrosine crystals. It offers lightly dairy aromas and a flavor that features sweet, caramel, toasted, and subtly fruity notes such as tropical pineapple. For all these reasons, it has been chosen as the best in the country.
